YLLÄS
Yllas is one of Finland’s largest ski resorts. Its wild landscape offers a very different skiing experience from that found in Alpine resorts. At seven hundred and eighteen metres, Yllas is the highest fell in Lapland and has over sixty ski slopes which accommodate all levels of ability. Cross country skiers can choose from over three hundred and thirty kilometres of trails. The terrain is ideal for novice and intermediate boarders. Twenty-six lifts give quick and easy access to the slopes. Ski schools provide excellent tuition in both skiing and boarding and childcare facilities are available.
It is a relaxed resort offering long trails for cross country skiers and excellent downhill skiing. Mornings and evenings provide wonderful skies and if you are lucky you may see the fantastic display of the Northern Lights.
Yllas has a long ski season promising good snow cover from November until the end of May. January and February are usually very cold months when temperatures can drop to below minus twenty.
